3/5/2023 0 Comments Mediainfo 0.7.63Hopefully Jerome will modify the next version of MediaInfo to reflect the fact that the header and audio stream data is at odds. I appreciate this probably isn't worth changing, but VRD will know what the audio format of the first frame of the first edit is when the user presses "Save" and before the streams are sent to the muxer - so in an ideal world it would probably be possible to get the file header to reflect the true number of channels unless this is buried somewhere in code you are leveraging such as FFmpeg and not VRD code - just not probably worth the agro since as you say the files play back just fine. So my guess is that it simply defaults to "2" in all cases? I've tried saving a clip from that output file which is purely 5.1 and the output file is again tagged as 2 channel in the header. I think we're agreed that this is a pretty trivial "edge condition" that will only affect users looking at the content of their files using tools such as MediaInfo, which now gives misleading results.
